Six day trip to Dubai

Home of sand, sun and shopping, this is a holiday filled with glitz! Whatever your heart desires, its yours!

Useful Information

   Shopping

What you can buy

What you can buy – anything and everything from fresh produce, old-world exotica, designer collections and new-wave gadgetry. Where you can buy – pick from the thriving contrast of traditional souqs, towering super malls and boutique stores.

   Entertainment

Abundant entertainment options mean you can keep exploring Dubai into the small hours. See live music, see live DJs play music, see beautiful people dancing to the music and if you're up for it, join in! Alternatively you can try the traditional sheesha (water pipe) in a cafe overlooking Dubai Creek.

  Events

Dubai hosts two major tourist-oriented events during the year. The Dubai Shopping Festival(DSF) is held from mid-January to mid-February. Shopping centres bust themselves to bring in the spenders. Entertainment for the kids, fireworks and free raffle tickets with every purchase are just part of the fun. The lower-key Dubai Summer Surprises (held in June) is designed, along with cheap hotel rates, to attract tourists during the summer slump. Surprises include displays of traditional culture, cooking demonstrations, art shows and more raffle tickets.

   Places of Intrest

Bur Dubai Souq has been beautifully rebuilt to appeal to shopping-mad tourists, Deira’s celebrated Gold Souq attracts buyers from all over the world. The Dubai Museum is housed inside the Al-Fahidi Fort and is an interesting visit. The Grand Mosque in Bur Dubai is a multidomed mosque and boasts the city’s tallest minaret. Jumeirah Archaeological Site is now the biggest and perhaps the most significant archaeological site in the UAE. You’ll see the remains of stone walls, a souq, several houses and what is thought to have been a governor’s palace. Jumeirah Beach Park is a lovely grassy park adjoins Jumeirah Beach. It has walkways, kiosks, barbecue pits, picnic tables and entertainment galore. Sultan Bin Ali AL-Owais Cultural Foundation, Al-Owais, as it is locally known, is a cultural centre aimed at promoting Arab and Islamic culture.

   Sports and Leisure

Anything and everything you want to do can be done in Dubai, at a price of course! Take a ride in a helicopter, rent a yacht or, as unlikely as it sounds, ski down an artifical slope in the largest Mall in Dubai. Whatever you desire!

   Out and About

There are two sides of Dubai to explore - the sleek, futuristic world of mirrored skylines, chilled-air malls and James Bond-style artificial islands; and old Dubai, perhaps most clearly represented by its ancient mosques and countless souks, all of which sell a different speciality.
